What we don't collect
QR codes, barcodes, images and camera frames you scan are decoded entirely in your browser. Nothing you scan, upload, paste or generate is transmitted to our servers - there are no servers involved in that part of the site at all.
Scan history
If you leave "Save history" turned on, your last 10 scans are kept in your browser's local storage on your own device. They're never sent anywhere, and you can delete them, export them as JSON or CSV, or clear them entirely at any time. Turning history off, or clearing your browser's site data, removes them.
Feedback form
If you send feedback through the site, we receive the message you write, and, if you choose to add them, a screenshot and your email address for a reply. Along with that, our server automatically logs your IP address, the current page URL and your browser/user-agent string. We use this only to understand and reproduce the issue you're reporting - it's never used for advertising or sold to anyone.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site runs ads through Google AdSense to stay free. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technology to serve ads based on your visits here and to other sites, and may collect data under their own privacy policies. You can review or opt out of personalized advertising at Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) or via www.aboutads.info.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic - which pages are visited and roughly how - never to identify you individually or to see what you scan. Google Analytics uses cookies and may share data with Google under its own privacy policy.
Search engines
This site is registered with Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools so we can see how it's indexed and fix crawl issues. These tools only report publicly available page and search data - they don't give us access to anything you do on the site.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page with a new effective date.
